KATHRYN MELTON'S BIO

Joseph T. May continues to receive accolades in the film and television industries. His feature films, “Danny”, “A Saab Story” and the highly successful “Derek & Delila” are evidence. The straight-to-video domestic drama “Danny”, shot on Super 8 film, was nominated for a BSAS Award in 1998, and the   hilarious romantic comedy “Derek & Delila” was an official selection at the 2007 Pan African Film Festival.

A native of Flint, Michigan, May has been on the Hollywood scene since the early 90s both behind and in front of the camera. Film training at the University of

  Michigan and Fordham University fueled his desire to produce films of extraordinary depth and humor. He received his jump-start in film as assistant director of “Fire Eyes”, a documentary feature about female genital mutilation in Somalia produced by Soraya Mier.  
   
In addition to being a talented actor/director May is an outstanding writer and has published a manual on comedy sketch writing titled “Sketch”.
His sitcom “The Mourning Knitwit Knews”, which he wrote, produced, directed and starred in for five seasons, is both humorous and provocative.
  The show is currently thrilling cable television audiences in both
Los Angeles and New York City and was recently submitted to Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, and Comedy Central.

May is currently shooting his latest project, the documentary feature “Shafon: An MPS VI Story” about

  a young girl living with a devastating genetic disorder.
