Derek and Delila is
a zany romantic
comedy in the
tradition of
classics like “10”
and “The Woman in
Red”. When Derek and
Lisa Williams start
having trouble in
their nine-year
marriage, Derek
decides to purchase
a blowup doll (Delila)
to keep as a
companion. He
becomes so engrossed
with his new |
|
“girlfriend” that
the doll actually
comes to life in his
mind... or does she
really?
Derek and Delila
enjoy long
conversations,
romantic evenings,
even walks along the
beach, much to
Lisa’s chagrin. Only
Derek sees Delila as
real, with the
exception of a few
choice moments when |
|
she decides to show
her human side to
confuse and bewilder
strangers.
Lisa, though still
very much in love
with her husband,
decides that Derek
has lost his mind
and that spending
time with his
imaginary friend is
the final blow to
the marriage. |
